“Punk Deluxe”
… is not only a name, but also a bit of history. In his home county, “Punk Deluxe” is better known as DJ stefan w. deluxe.
Growing up in a family with no one other than musicians, there was no other way but for Stefan to become a musician himself. Still in his youth, he used to play the drums in a punk band – where the PUNK comes from. But, from where does DELUXE come?

At the same time, when Stefan still performed on the drums, some electronic sounds seized his home province. Thus, a small but exquisite community quickly established in this region. Stefan was influenced by these sounds so strongly, that he began to play tables on the decks. This fascination ended in the result that his two turntables as well as a mixer had to find a place in his teenage room. In 1997, he was only 15 years old, he started a career as resident DJ in the legendary X-Club in Thuringia, under his name: Stefan W.!
A stage name, born in his mind, was not acceptable to him. Stefan, like his first name, and W. as initial of Wallstab – his surname. Even though, the boss of the X-Club insisted that he uses an artist name for nearly a year. Stefan refused – no chance, never ever… Finally, the boss took the decision on his own to introduce stefan w. deluxe! to the audience on the next flyer. Thus, the star was reborn at this time.
“Punk Deluxe” is a project of Stefan to turn his own mind games and all musical influences of his present life into reality. Stefan loves real sounds like drums and guitar riffs but synthetic sounds delight him as well. Aggressive but also full of emotions at the same time, Stefan tries to reflect all these sounds in his own tracks –

“Punk Deluxe”
… nicht nur ein Name , sondern ein Stück Geschichte. Bekannt in heimischen Gebieten ist “Punk Deluxe” wohl eher als Dj stefan w. deluxe. Aufgewachsen in einer Familie, vollgepackt mit Musikern, bleibt es natürlich nicht aus, selbst ein Musiker zu werden . Noch in der Jugend wurde fleißig in einer deutschsprachigen Punkband auf die Trommeln gehauen … PUNK … aber woher kommt das DELUXE ? … … Zeitgleich , als Stefan noch am Schlagzeug sein Können unter Beweis stellte , überrannten elektronische Töne die Heimatprovinz . Ziemlich schnell entwickelte sich eine kleine aber feine Szene in den heimischen Gebieten . Das Spielen mit den Platten an den Decks fasziniert ihn so sehr , dass ab sofort neben dem Schlagzeug noch zwei Plattenspieler und ein Mixer im Zimmer untergebracht werden mussten . 1997 , im zarten Alter von 15 Jahren , beginnt für ihn schon sehr früh eine Karriere als Residentdeejay im legendären X-CLUB in Thüringen , damals unter dem Namen : Stefan W. ! Ein Künstlername … ausgedacht oder dergleichen , kam für ihn nicht in Frage . Stefan , so der Vorname und W. … das Kürzel für Wallstab … sein Nachname . Der Chef des X-CLUBs hat gut ein Jahr lang darauf gedrängt , das Stefan sich einen Künstlernamen zulegt . Aber … “NEIN , das kommt nicht in Frage” ! … Auf dem nächsten Flyer stand : stefan w. deluxe ! Der Chef hat Stefan einfach so den Zusatz verpasst ! … stefan w. deluxe was born … “Punk Deluxe” ist ein Projekt um eigene Ideen und alle musikalischen Einflüsse seines bisherigen Lebens in eigene Stücke umzusetzen . Stefan liebt echte Sounds wie Drums und Gitarrenklänge , ebenso begeistern ihn aber auch syntetische Töne . Aggressiv als auch gefühlvoll , versucht Stefan alles in seinen Tracks wiederzugeben . … Stay tuned !
